Ruan is committed to promoting safety on the roads and helping all motorists make it home safely each day. That is why we are proud to participate in the annual Our Roads, Our Safety® Week. This week-long event, which takes place May 7-13, is dedicated to raising public awareness about the importance of sharing the road safely with large trucks and buses.
The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) uses Our Roads, Our Safety® Week to share information about how large vehicles like commercial trucks, buses, and trains require more space and time on roadways due to their size and weight. These vehicles are often incapable of stopping immediately and must utilize wide turn angles when towing trailers. The FMCSA’s goal is to educate the public on how to give these large commercial vehicles extra space on the road, remain vigilant, be prepared to stop, maintain proper distance between vehicles, and more.
Additionally, the FMCSA provides valuable safety resources and tips for professional drivers, including informational packets on basics like buckling up and traveling at safe speeds to more in-depth articles on how to navigate different road conditions. Visit the FMSCA’s website to view these resources and learn more about Our Roads, Our Safety® Week.
