Recognizing Our Best

Without our professional drivers, Ruan would not exist. As a result, we make it a priority to recognize great performance through a variety of programs. 

Driver of the Year

In 2009, Ruan launched the Driver of the Year program to recognize exceptional driver performance for the previous year. Our DOY candidates exemplify our standards of safety, customer service, dedication, and professionalism. Each Driver of the Year—one out of Ruan’s 4,000 professional drivers—is honored with a trophy, a cash reward, and the title of Driver of the Year for the recognition year.

To select  our Driver of the Year, on-site managers select DOY finalists from their operations. Our vice presidents of operations then narrow the field of finalists to a Winners’ Circle, who travel to our headquarters in Des Moines, IA, in July for an award ceremony and other festivities. Out of the Winners' Circle, our senior leadership team select an annual Driver of the Year, announced at the award ceremony.

Megasafe Recognition Program

Ruan's Megasafe Recognition Program. This awards program recognizes the skills, professionalism, and continuous display of excellence by our professional drivers. Each year a driver successfully completes without a preventable accident, they will get to select a gift from an online catalog. Gifts include Ruan-branded items, jewelry, furniture, camping and leisure items, the latest technology, and so much more. The milestone recognition award values increase as the consecutive years of safe driving increase!

Ruan Recognition Program

At Ruan, we realize that our most valuable assets are our team members, and showing employee appreciation is imperative to job satisfaction. The Ruan Recognition Program serves to inspire all employees to recognize and celebrate the daily contributions that others are making throughout the organization. The program consists of five levels of recognition, including the Team Ruan Award, the Ruan Spotlight, the Pacesetter Award, the Extra Mile Award, and the John Ruan Founder's Award.
